A ROWING club in Burnham will be taking part in a huge spectacle of racing on the River Crouch this weekend.
Burnham-on-Crouch Coastal Rowing Club will be hosting the Harkers’ Yard Winter Series Race on Sunday.
The Harkers Yard is a series of races of different groups and gigs of rowers competing around Essex.
The Burnham club recently secured a £10,000 grant from Sport England for a project including buying their boat Willow, which will be in the water competing with around 15 boats from the East Coast rowing clubs.
The day kicks off from 9.30am, when registration will be open and refreshments served.
Clubs will be able to warm up in their boats during the morning, with the first race set to begin at noon from the Royal Burnham Yacht Club, with plenty of viewing space from Burnham Quay.
Supporters and casual viewers are more than welcome to come along and support the local Burnham team, with refreshments being served and prizes being awarded at the Royal Burnham Yacht Club all day.
