AN award winning Tolleshunt Major pork farmer and sausage maker will be supplying a supermarket chain with meat after winning a new contract.
Wicks Manor will be supplying Co-op stories across London and South Essex with its Olde English Sausages and its pork and apple burgers.
The farm, which has been producing bacon, hams and sausages since 2000, is expanding its pig herd to meet demand in the UK and oversees.
Fergus Howie, director of Wicks Manor, said: “Producing great tasting products is key to our family business and we are delighted that they will now be available to these Co-operative customers.
“We have a fantastic team who rear the pigs on our farm in the Essex countryside, work in the butchery and develop the recipes for these fantastic sausages and burgers.”
The pigs, which are born and bred on the farm, live in large open straw yards and they feed on wheat and barley crops which are grown and milled on the farm.
