STOW Maries Great War Aerodrome is hosting its first ever dedicated living history event.

The event will focus on the First World War and the role of the British Armed Forces.

The historic airfield will play host to uniforms, weaponry, equipment and training exhibitions throughout July 22 and 23.

There will be authentic demonstrations, a marching band as well as an exhibition by award winning First World War aviation artist, Graham Turner.

Ian Flint, Chief Executive of the aerodrome, said: “We are delighted to be able to host such an exciting event.

“Whilst other periods are well represented over the country, an event dedicated solely to the Great War is seldom, if ever seen.

“The opportunity to attend such an event has attracted the cream of historical interpretation on a national level. Stow Maries at War is set to be an amazing occasion for all ages, we can’t wait.”

Tickets for the event are only available in advance and cost £20. To purchase, contact admin@stowmaries.org.uk or call 01245 329358.
