POLICE were called to Latchingdon after two boys had climbed onto the village hall roof and were shouting abuse at the public.

Officers were sent to the village hall, in Burnham Road, Latchingdon, shortly before 7pm on Sunday.

Two boys were brought down from the roof of the building, and given words of advice by the Police.

A spokesman for Latchingdon Parish Council said: “The police and fire service were called to attend an incident at the village hall.

“Two young boys were on the roof. The young men in question have been spoken to by police, fire service and the person who told them to get down because what they were doing was dangerous.

“They were abusive to the person who was concerned for their welfare.

“They have wasted the time of the emergency services who we know are short staffed. Please talk to your children and impress upon them how dangerous it is to climb on a building that high.”
