POPULAR former Southend United striker Barry Corr is relishing the next stage of his career.

Corr - who scored 63 goals in 185 appearances for the Shrimpers - now coaches at Cambridge United while also taking charge of St Neots Town.

And the Irishman is revelling in both roles.

“I enjoy it a lot,” said Corr.

“It’s helping players with the transition of the youth team to the first team.

“Not all of the players are always ready at the end of their scholarships so I’m looking after them and we have link with St Neots now too, a good step four team.

“I’m the manager there and I enjoy it.

“But I don’t just see it as development for the Cambridge players.

“I also want to do well and do well for St Neots too because it’s a proud club in its own right and a really good community club.

“I’m looking forward to getting going again because we have some ambitions for next season.”

St Neots were 18th in the 20 team BetVictor Southern Central Division table before the coronavirus pandemic saw the season end early.
