DEFENDER Chris Ribchester has left FC Clacton and joined BetVictor Isthmian League side Felixstowe and Walton.

The Suffolk outfit tabled a seven-day approach for the 29-year-old.

Ribchester is keen for another crack at step four football, having previously played for Heybridge Swifts.

But he will be dual registered so could still feature for the Seasiders.

"It's a real shame as Ribbo has been such an important player for us this season," said Clacton boss Austin.

"He's made a huge difference and will certainly be missed.

"However, I'd never stand in anyone's way if they wanted to test themselves at a higher level.

"Ribbo's been given that opportunity and we wish him the very best of luck."

Felixstowe are 14th in BetVictor Isthmian League division north. They are away to Maldon and Tiptree in the FA Trophy on Saturday.

Ribchester, a product of the Colne Community College, has previously played for Stanway Rovers and Holland FC.

In 2009/10 he was named supporters, manager's and players' player-of-the-year at Clacton.
