TALENTED young duo Jordan Barnett and Clarence Emeh have signed up for another season at Brightlingsea Regent.

The highly-rated pair proved 'ones to watch' last term and will be hoping to push on and play more first-team football in 2019/20.

Versatile Barnett played 27 Isthmian League games in his first season at step three level and earned praise from R's boss Tom Rothery.

Emeh, meanwhile, joined later in the season after working hard to break into the first-team squad.

“I’ve known Jordan since he joined our under-18 set-up and he's still only 21, so there’s a lot more to come from him," said Rothery.

"He began to show that last season with some mature performances in midfield and also when called upon in defence.

"He’s tenacious but also has good ability on the ball and he really cemented a place in the starting team last season with some excellent performances."

Emeh first caught the eye for Regent's Thurlow Nunn League first division south reserve side, having started training with the club in September.

"Clarence worked hard to try and get in the squad," added Rothery.

"He achieved that towards the end of the season and I feel he deserves the chance to come back and see where he fits into the squad due to his effort, commitment and general endeavour.

"When he performed for us he did well and kept it simple, linking up play well.”
