MALDON AND TIPTREE returned to winning ways after storming to a 4-1 victory at Bury Town tonight.
The Jammers had lost two and drawn one of their previous three division north encounters but took control in the second half at Ram Meadow.
After a goalless first period, Matthew Briggs put them ahead in the 54th minute.
Bury levelled thanks to Ollie Hughes but Maldon finished strongly with goals from De-Carrey Sheriff (74), Sammie Mcleod (80) and De-Carrey Sheriff (90).
In the process they moved up to sixth in the table, above their hosts, one place and one point outside the play-offs.
COGGESHALL TOWN are third after a 1-0 victory at AFC Sudbury.
Joshua Pollard scored their all-important goal in the 25th minute.
Elsewhere, LITTLE OAKLEY held their nerve to beat FC CLACTON 4-2 on penalties, in the quarter-finals of the Tolleshunt D'Arcy Memorial Cup.
The tie had finished 3-3 after 90 minutes.
New signing Max Booth, Matt Eve and Lee Clowsley scored the Seasiders' goals, with Frankie Selwyn (two) and Matthew Geen on target for the Acorns.
STANWAY ROVERS were in Essex Senior League action at Redbridge.
They fought back from two-down at the break to eventually draw 3-3.
