FRINTON Lawn Tennis Club are celebrating title glory.
Their mixed C team have won Colchester and District League division five, after a crucial match at rivals Lexden Racquets and Fitness C.
The teams have been battling it out for the title and their scores were close in the league table, with Frinton on 44 points and Lexden on 39.
A win for either team therefore meant certain promotion.
The visitors fielded Richard Baldwin and Clare Young, who produced scores of 8-7, 8-6, 2-8.
Captain Bill Greeno and Alison Parker also secured two sets 8-2, 8-4, losing a set 2-8.
David Hall and Jane Gillies won a set 8-1, but lost their other sets 4-8, 5-8.
However, it was still enough to give the visitors the title.
