HOLLAND FC ran out 2-0 winners at University of Essex, in the Essex and Suffolk Border League premier division on Saturday.
Nicky Palmer, with his first for the club, and skipper Dave Chapman scored their goals, while the man-of-the-match award went to Bruce Poole.
“It was a crucial win and much-needed after last week’s draw against Tollesbury,” said joint-boss Rob Batten.
“(Fellow joint-manager) Glenn (Cowen) and I were very happy with the result.
“We just need to keep getting results and see where it takes us.”
Holland were back in action on Tuesday night, thumping Harwich and Parkeston 5-1 under the lights at the Royal Oak.
Poole scored four of their goals – predictably making him star man again – and he was joined on the scoresheet by Steve Eaton.
Holland host neighbours Weeley Athletic on Saturday, in the Border League Knockout Cup semi-finals.
