FC CLACTON have been given the toughest draw possible in the next round of the FA Vase.
That’s the view of Seasiders boss David Coyle, having seen his side handed a first-round proper trip to AFC Dunstable.
The Bedfordshire side are four points clear at the top of the Spartan South Midlands League premier division and still unbeaten, after plundering 23 points from a possible 27.
Coyle knows his side face a tough test at Creasey Park.
But he says anything is possible and has faith in his players’ ability to cause an upset.
“We’re going from one extreme to another,” said the Clacton boss, who saw his side make Vase progress following a 7-0 thumping of Newbury Forest on Saturday.
“Newbury Forest are a step seven team and bottom of their division.
“Dunstable are top of a step five league, so they’re just about the highest-ranked side we could have been drawn against.
“In that respect, the draw couldn’t be worse or harder.
“They’re the best team we could have drawn at this stage and that’s a fact.
“It’ll be difficult but I know we can beat anyone on our day. There will be a game when we click, when everything goes right, and why can’t it be that day?
“We go into every game believing we can win and this will be no exception.”
