TENDRING Volleyball Club are hoping for a record-breaking crowd for Saturday’s eagerly-awaited National Shield showdown against the Manchester Marvels.
The sides are set to go head-to-head in a quarter-final at Frinton’s Tendring Technology College (first serve is at 8pm).
Tendring chairman Alex Porter is backing his side to march into the last four – and hopes they are watched by their biggest-ever home audience.
“It’s a really big occasion and I’m looking forward to it already,” he said.
“Our record crowd is 135, for a National League match against Wessex.
“We’ve got close to the hundred-mark a couple of times since and it would be nice to set a new record on Saturday.
“I know it would mean a lot to the players if people turned out to support them.”
