One of Southend’s biggest attractions is on the lookout for new staff.

Adventure Island’s owners, Stockvale, says it has already employed and re-employed more than 400 members of staff ahead of the summer season.

But bosses have revealed they plan to recruit another 100 people in anticipation of a busy few months when social distancing rules could even be removed completely.

Adventure Island says it is specifically on the lookout for people who are extroverts, outgoing, lively, enthusiastic and full of energy.

The areas where new staff are needed include:

  • Rides
  • Go-Karts
  • Photos
  • Cashier
  • Rangers
  • Security
  • Entertainment
  • Catering
  • Arcades
  • Customer Services
  • Sales & Bookings

Bosses say flexible working hours are available, along with out of work events and staff discounts at Adventure Island.

A statement on its website adds: “Our mission is to ‘to make our guests the happiest they have ever been within the safest possible environment, to ensure their regular return and recommendation to others’.

“ That can only happen through our incredibly enthusiastic staff, who are committed to deliver fun, laughter, joy, happiness and magic all day long. They are schooled in the exquisite art of entertainment.

“And put through their paces when it comes to the serious business of health & safety, where every team member is coached and assessed on a daily basis.”

The attraction has also provided a rough guide for hourly pay rates, which is dependant on age.

This includes:

  • 16-17 - £5.60
  • 18-20 - £7.35
  • 21-24 - £9.36
  • 25+ - £9.98

The application process remains open until July.
