More than 1,000 coronavirus cases are still being recorded in Southend every week.
Latest figures show the infection rate in the district now stands at 613.8 cases per 100,000 people.
That's down from 834.4 this time last Friday.
But 1,124 new cases have been recorded in the past week and parts of the district are still seeing a high number of positive Covid tests.
Kursaal saw the highest number of cases recorded in the seven days ending January 16, with 95.
Other areas which were above the national average for number of cases in that period were:
- Southend Central - 94
- Victoria - 94
- Chalkwell - 78
- St Lukes - 77
- Blenheim Park - 73
- Southchurch - 72
- Shoebury - 65
- Prittlewell - 65
- Eastwood 64
- West Shoebury - 54
- Eastwood Park - 53
- Belfairs - 51
- West Leigh - 49
The number of new cases recorded in Leigh (36) and Thorpe Bay (34), meaning the areas' infection rates are now below the national average.
