NHS staff at Basildon Hospital are being offered the chance to use E-scooters for free.
The offer has been made by electric scooter company, SPIN, which is helping with a new trial in towns across Essex.
Residents in Basildon are able to hire an E-scooter and use it to travel short distances to help avoid unnecessary car journeys.
E-scooters offered by SPIN are legal and have the backing of both the Government and Essex County Council.
Despite having only 50 E-scooters available in Basildon, the lockdown has led to “spare capacity” and Spin is now offering their scooters to NHS staff for free.
Rides can be no more than 30 minutes long and the scooters are capped at 15mph.
The scooters are based at nine charging points across Basildon.
