A HUGE police response was triggered tonight over fears of a suspicious substance at a property in Pitsea.
Police have been in Travers Way this evening (Tuesday 29 September) after concerns were raised about a suspicious substance at a property.
Specialist explosive disposal experts were called to the scene.
A police spokesman said: "To make sure that there was no risk to others in the property or members of the public, explosive ordnance disposal experts were called to test the substance, which was determined not to be explosive or dangerous."
"We would like to thank local residents for their co-operation and understanding while we worked with our EOD colleagues to ensure everyone's safety."
