HUNDREDS of people gathered at an illegal event on Southend seafront.
Essex Police despatched multiple officers to the seafront last night as the large group of people arrived by bus to the beaches.
It is thought that this may be the same group that was prevented from illegally going to the waterfront in Bradwell-on-Sea earlier in the day.
Photos from the scene show police cars and vans lining the seafront and police cars closing off a road.
Officers worked into the night to disperse the group, with barricades being formed on either side of them.

It is not known if anyone has been arrested in connection to the incident.
