A section of the M25 has been completely shut due to a lorry fire.

Fire crews are currently at the scene after the lorry caught fire in the hard shoulder, just after junction 27, near Theydon Bois, at around 5am this morning.

The road has been closed in either direction in the nearby area, with emergency services tackling the fire on the clockwise carriageway.

There are around two miles of stationary queues heading clockwise, towards junction 26 for Waltham Abbey, while there are four-miles of queues on the anticlockwise carriageway.

A diversion is in place, with drivers told to follow signs onto the M11, North Circular and the A12.
