A MAN has been charged with a string of offences after a man sustained a life-changing hand injury during an assault.
Essex Police were called to Westborough Road, near its junction with Electric Avenue, at around 3.35pm on Friday.
A man had sustained a serious hand injury during an assault.
Officers attended and arrested a man on suspicion of various offences.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "Thabo Sithole, 21, of Wenham Drive, Westcliff, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of a weapon for the discharge of a noxious gas.
"He has been remanded to appear at Southend Magistrates’ Court on Monday."
The victim was taken to hospital with a life-changing hand injury caused by a knife.
