Two men were arrested on suspicion of driving offences following patrols by officers.
The arrests were carried out by Essex Police's Operational Support Group officers last night.
The officers first stopped a car in Chadwell St Mary just before 10.15pm. The driver, a 33-year-old man from Purfleet, was arrested on suspicion of drug driving.
He has since been released under investigation.
Later that evening, the officers were in Stifford Clays when a pursuit with a Ford Fiesta occurred.
A man was later arrested in Harty Close.
John Carroll, 23 of North Street in Barking has been charged with drink driving, driving whilst disqualified and driving without insurance. He will appear at Basildon Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 2 July.
