A BOY was hit by a car outside a school in Leigh, according to reports on social media.
A post seen by parents of pupils at Chalkwell Hall Junior School claims the car failed to stop despite people witnessing the incident, which took place yesterday morning outside the London Road school.
It is believed the boy was not seriously hurt.
The crossing the boy used before beiing hit is unclear at this stage.
There are three puffin crossings around the school including one which is manned by a school crossing patrol officer.
There is also a refuge island further along the London Road directly opposite the infant school.
Essex Police and Chalkwell Hall Junior School has been contacted for comment.
