A TRANSGENDER singer and comic who previously starred in BBC’s The Voice has taken a central role in Paloma Faith’s latest music video.

Jordan Gray, of Grays, stars in the singer’s video for song Warrior, with Paloma stating the video is a “testament to human spirit”.

Jordan first met Paloma when she worked alongside her in the 2016 The Voice series, where she was narrowly voted out in the semi-finals.

The transgender singer took on the role of Transgender Ambassador during the series, and has gone on to become hugely successful since leaving the show.

As well as announcing her appearance in the music video, Jordan is currently performing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, with her musical comedy entitled, Jordan Gray: People Change.

In a post to her Facebook page, Jordan said: “I’ve had to keep this under me hat/hair but damn does it feel good to be unveiled as a *Warrior* in the new video by Paloma Faith and producer Thomas James.

“Paloma continues to do remarkable things with the platform she’s fought for.

“I can only strive to emulate the compassion of such a dedicated artist. Thank you Paloma.

“Just the boost I needed to get me through Edinburgh Festival Fringe.”

Speaking to Smooth Radio, Paloma Faith said she has selected a host of people to appear in the video, branding them “fighters”.

She told the station: “I’ve always been a fighter and gravity leads other fighters to me.

“Sometimes I am moved to tears by the power of humanity.

“Our capacity to fight and to survive astounds me.

“In this video Thomas James and I asked some incredible people we know or have met who have either fought against all odds for what they believe to be right for the greater good or survived the most profoundly heart wrenching obstacles.

“The video is meant to be a testament to the human spirit.”
