YOUNGSTERS made the most of their half-term break by enjoying all sorts of Peter Rabbit related fun and activities.

The week long Beatrix Potter theme came to an end on Friday as a meet the animals event was held at Leigh Community Centre for the children.

Animals from Party Pets headed to the centre to meet the youngsters who were also able to take part in arts and crafts and had the chance to make some tasty treats.

Francesca Smith, who is the marketing and profile officer at the centre, said: “It’s been extremely popular with the children and they’ve all been having a lovely time.

“We try to keep the groups quite small otherwise the animals might get a bit spooked but all of the children have been brilliant and very calm.”

Among the animals which visited the centre were rabbits, bearded dragons and spiders.

On Tuesday last week a Beatrix Potter arts and crafts session was held and that was followed by a very popular Peter Rabbit puppet show on Wednesday.

The centre is currently finalising its activities calendar ahead of the summer holidays with details of events expected at the start of next month.
