TWO parts of Colchester have seen more than 20 Covid cases in the latest seven day period, new figures show.

A map produced using Government figures shows the number of Covid cases in each part of Colchester over a seven day period.

The figures are from the seven days to February 24.

According to the figures, Parson's Heath had the most cases with 36 during this week.

Second was Marks Tey and Wakes Colne, where 23 cases were recorded.

Both areas have infection rates significantly above the national average.

The lowest number of cases was seen in Horkesley Heath, Langham and Dedham, where less than three cases were recorded.

Colchester's average Covid infection rate has fallen compared with a week previously.

In the week to February 25 it was 93.5 cases per 100,000 people.

This is after 182 cases were confirmed during this week.

A week earlier, the borough's infection rate was 102.7 cases per 100,000 people.

A total of 140 cases were confirmed in the seven days to February 25.

The rate has dropped from 145.3 cases per 100,000 people a week earlier.
