TODAY’S trip down memory lane has taken us to Tiptree.

The village is the subject of a new book written by Elaine Bamford.

Mrs Bamford (nee Rawlinson) revisited her childhood for Tiptree, Still a Village. She was brought up in the village and attended Tiptree Church and Tiptree Secondary Modern schools respectively.

It covers Tiptree memories from the Second World War to the 1970s.

Mrs Bamford supplied the pictures for this spread and said: “Sales are going well and anyone interested in buying a copy can contact me via my Facebook page, Tiptree and District History or by calling me on 07768 194835. “

The books are on sale at Staines and Brights, Don Tyler Opticians and Strawberry Locks, in Church Road, plus Red Lion Book Shop, in Colchester.
