COLCHESTER'S coronavirus infection rate has risen for a fourth day in a row, with 244 cases being confirmed within seven days.

The coronavirus infection rate in Colchester is now 125.3 cases per 100,000 people with 244 new cases confirmed in the latest seven days.

The figures, for the seven days to October 23, are based on tests carried out in laboratories and in the wider community.

This is up from 117.1 in the seven days ending October 22.

Rates are expressed as the number of new cases per 100,000 people.

Over the same period Tendring recorded 135 cases, a rate of 92.1 cases per 100,000 people, down from 102.3 the day before.
