A SMALL number of sixth form students are in self isolation after a school confirmed a positive case of Covid-19.
Parents of pupils and students at Philip Morant School and College were informed of the case today.
Staff said the school remains open and children should continue to attend if they are well.
In a letter, the school said: "We have been made aware of a student at Philip Morant School and College who has tested positive for Covid-19.
"We know that you will find this concerning and we are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England.
"This letter is to inform you of the current situation and provide advice on how to support your child.
"Please be reassured that for most people, coronavirus will be a mild illness.
"As a result, we have identified a small number of students in Sigma Sixth, parents have been contacted directly and these students will be staying at home for 14 days.
"The school remains open and your child should continue to attend if they are well."
Two weeks ago a member of staff at the school tested positive for the virus, though no students were sent home to self-isolate.
