A COCAINE addict downloaded more than 20,000 abuse images after being kicked out of his parents’ home.

Matthew Bracci got himself into £20,000 worth of debt and would regularly use cocaine, which led him into looking at the indecent images.

The 30-year-old caught the attention of the police after an indecent image of a child was uploaded to the site Pinterest in November 2016.

The authorities then traced phone numbers linked to Bracci, and he was arrested when he attended Southend Police Station in February 2017.

A search was conducted and various electrical items were seized.

In total, Bracci had nine category A images - the most serious kind - 100 category B, and around 20,700 category C images.

There were also 86 extreme pornographic images.

Bracci, who lived in south Essex at the time but now of California Close, Colchester, admitted making indecent photos of a child and possession of extreme pornographic and prohibited images.

He was sentenced at Basildon Crown Court yesterday.

Mitigating, Mike Warren said: “He was using £300 a week on cocaine. He had £20,000 worth of debt.

“His parents were not unaware of it and they gave him numerous opportunities.

“He was told he wasn’t welcome back to his address at the end of 2016.

“He was parking outside his parents and logging onto the wi-fi.

“He said he was really at his lowest.”

Bracci was given a two year community order with 50 days of rehabilitation and 250 hours of unpaid work.
