A THEATRE group is holding auditions for its next filmed project as it looks to soldier on despite the pandemic.
Sudbury Dramatic Society has been forced to adapt since the town’s Quay Theatre closed its doors due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
The group has been producing filmed dramas to help fill the void caused by the pandemic.
The most recent was a production of Anthony Trollope’s The Warden.
The drama has been adapted and directed by Pelham Elliott and is currently in post-production.
The society says it will appear online soon to raise funds for the Quay Theatre.
Now the society is looking to start another project with The Magic Lantern Mystery created by Malcolm Hollister and Adam Webster.
The society is looking for actors to fill the roles of five suspects – three female and two male plus two spares – as well as policeman Inspector Sheerluck.
Auditions will be held online on Monday, September 14 at 7.30pm.
A spokesman said: “The Magic Lantern Mystery has been designed specifically for online delivery and calls for actors who can think on their feet and improvise around a prepared script.
“Those auditioning will be asked to assume a character and role play a questioning session where they will either have to reveal certain facts or wheedle out certain facts by questioning somebody else.”
Anyone interested in auditioning can contact members@sudburydramatic.com.
