A YOUNG lyricist is hoping his latest rap to teach others about online safety will go viral.

Aden Smith, nine, has discovered a talent for rapping since lockdown started thanks to watching MC Grammar's YouTube lessons weekly.

MC Grammar is a primary school teacher who teaches children educational skills through rapping.

Aden and his sisters Imogen, seven, and Millie, six, have been really inspired by his lessons and have all gotten involved with sending videos and various raps each week to the YouTube sensation's channel.

Tara Smith, their mother, said: "The three of them have really enjoyed making various raps and poems for different pieces of school work also."

Recently, Aden, who attends Brooklands Primary School, in Brantham, has been contacted by the deputy head of school to use his latest rap about online safety on the school's Parent Zone website and social media channels.

The reason for the online safety rap was due to the school running an online assembly with the Parent Zone team about staying safe on the internet.

So Aden took it upon himself to make a rap about it.

Mrs Smith said: "Aden was absolutely ecstatic when we told him the news his words were 'I can't believe it that's so cool, I hope the rap goes viral because its important to know how to be safe online', whilst he was jumping up and down beaming from ear to ear.

"He has been trying very hard with all his raps and poems recently and has thoroughly enjoyed making them, any chance he gets to make a rap or poem about something he does.

"Myself and my husband [Kevin Smith] were of course incredibly proud of him as we are all three of them with how well they have taken to the strange change in circumstances and how much effort they have put in with their home learning."
