A POTENTIALLY life-saving piece of equipment has been installed in Manningtree.
The defibrillator, for the community, can be found in High Street, outside Acorn Village Charity Shop near the war memorial.
Acorn Village, which is a charity for adults with learning disabilities based in Mistley, allowed Manningtree's first responders to use the charity shop's wall as a spot for the defibrillator.
Manningtree Community Responders is a voluntary group now in its15th year which attends life-threatening emergency calls in the local area covering Mistley, Manningtree, Lawford, Brantham, Ardleigh, Dedham, Bradfield and Stratford St Mary.
Kate Williams, a responder, said: "We would like to thank the members of the community who have donated making this potentially life-saving facility available.
"If needed, upon calling 999 the ambulance service will give the access code to the caller, the defibrillator will then talk you through what to do alongside the 999 call handler.
Manningtree Community First Responder volunteers have continued to be on call to help the local community during the Covid-19 pandemic, they’ve also been helping to pick up prescriptions and shopping for those who need it.
