POLICE have cordoned off an area near a parade of shops.
Officers are guarding the scene at the Hunwicke Shopping Centre on the Greenstead estate in Colchester.
Details about what has happened have not yet been released by the police.
An air ambulance has also landed nearby this morning.
Residents have reported seeing other paramedics and police on the scene.
