AN extremely high tide is causing havoc on Mersea Island this afternoon.
A flood warning was issued for early afternoon due to the after effects of Storm Ciara.
Marshland and coastal paths have been particularly affected.
Some drivers are believed to have become stuck whilst crossing The Strood.
The Black Pearl pub posted this video on their Facebook page showing the extent of the high tide outside the property.
Trina Valentine said: "It is pretty full on and we have another 25 minutes to go.
"It is just about to touch the front door of the pub.
"There are a few cars floating in the car park outside."
