A TEENAGER has been handed a six month driving ban after crashing into a property.

Gee-oh Ho was behind the wheel of a Peugeot 207 when he lost control in Harwich Road, Great Bromley.

The car spun and crashed into a wall of a house, then smashed into the garden causing damage to the fence and an oil tank.

The 19-year-old suffered serious injuries in the smash in May.

He admitted driving without due care and attention and without insurance at Colchester Magistrates' Court.

Ho, of Daniell Drive, Colchester, was fined £120 and must pay the same amount in court charges on top of his driving ban.

A DRIVER has been fined and disqualified after clocking 140mph on the A12.

Aaron Rolfe was behind the wheel of a BMW Z4 when an unmarked police car measured he was travelling between 100 and 140mph on the one-mile stretch between the Jobserve Community Stadium and the junction for the A120.

The 26-year-old, of Regents Close, Colchester, was fined £490 and handed a six month driving ban after admitting speeding at Colchester Magistrates' Court.

He must pay costs of £90 and a £49 victim surcharge.

A MAN caught with a hunting knife has been jailed for five months.

Nathaniel Prescott had the weapon in St Andrew's Avenue, Colchester, in June.

Members of the public called the police when the 27-year-old was spotted with it.

Prescott admitted possession of a knife at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court.

He was jailed partly because he was already serving a community order when the offence happened for possession of cannabis and using violence to secure entry to a property.

Prescott, of Radvald Chase, Stanway, must pay a £115 victim surcharge when he is released.
