Four people have been taken to hospital follwing a crash on the Braintree bypass.

Two vehicles are understood to have been involved in the collision on the A120 between Galleys Corner and Marks Farm roundabouts.

Three ambulances, an ambulance officer, Hazardous Area Response Team and an Herts and Essex Air Ambulance attended the scene. 

The crash, which happened just before 8am, is blocking one lane on the westbound carriageway and queues have formed back towards Bradwell. 

A spokesperson from East of England Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 7.57am with reports of a collision on the A120 near Braintree.

"We sent the Hazardous Area Response Team, three ambulances, an ambulance officer and Herts and Essex Air Ambulance.

"Four people were taken to Broomfield Hospital by land ambulance."

Police also attended the scene.

A spokesperson from Essex Police said: "We were called to reports of a collision on the A120 at Galleys Corner shortly before 8am today (Thursday 28 November).

"We attended and found a vehicle which had left the road.

"It is not believed anyone was seriously injured.
