A NEW budget store will open in Braintree this weekend.
Shoppers will get a first glimpse of the new Poundland store in George Yard Shopping Centre when it opens for the first time on Saturday.
Doors are set to open at 9am and the first 100 customers will be given special golden envelopes which are filled with a variety of prizes.
Among the prizes are £50, £10 and £5 vouchers.
The unit which will be home to Poundland was previously occupied by fellow budget retailer, Poundworld.
The firm closed its store in Braintree last year after the firm went into administration in June.
Poundland, which was founded in 1990, has more than 800 stores across the UK, with the nearest to Braintree being in The Grove Shopping Centre in Witham.
