A DIY warehouse will be put up for auction today.

The commercial building in Century Drive, Braintree, is listed for sale on estate agent Barnard Marcus's website and valued at £6.5m.

The warehouse is currently occupied by Wickes, which has been leasing the property since 2010.

Barnard Marcus's website states the firm has an agreement in place which will see it occupy the warehouse until 2025.

However, the terms of the lease are due to be reviewed in June next year.

It is unclear whether the sale of the property will affect the deal.

The warehouse is based on a 2.1 acre site, most of which is used for customer parking and loading areas.

The building itself offers ground floor retail space along with storage facilities and a mezzanine retail area.

Wickes was contacted for comment but did not reply before the Times went to press.
