THREE men have been arrested after reports a gun was spotted inside a car.
Police were called after being alerted there was a weapon - which was thought to be a firearm - had been seen in a black Ford Focus which was stopped at traffic lights between Great Bromley and Frating just before 3.30pm on Wednesday.
Armed police then raided a house in Great Bromley where the three men were arrested on suspicion of various offences.
An 18-year-old from Great Bromley and a 25-year-old from Colchester were arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs, possession of a firearm and threatening to commit criminal damage.
A 20-year-old from Lawford was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm.
The three remain in custody.
Enquiries are ongoing.
