FIREFIGHTERS were called to tackle an early-morning kitchen blaze in a Jaywick bungalow.
Crews from Clacton and Weeley reached the home in Cornflower Road at about 4.40am this morning.
The kitchen of the small detached bungalow was at least 25 per cent alight.
Firefighters managed to extinguish the flames by 5.30am.
An elderly man who lives in the property escaped the blaze safely, but was treated by paramedics at the scene for smoke inhalation.
