A COMMUNITY organisation is running walking and swimming groups to help residents get healthy.
Community Voluntary Services Tendring (CVST) wants to help people get at least 20 minutes of exercise every day.
Bosses are reacting to new research from the University of Cambridge, which said 676,000 deaths each year can be traced to inactivity.
The CVST runs weekly walking and swimming groups. The walking group meets every Sunday at 12.30pm at various points along Clacton seafront, while swimming takes place at Valley Farm Holiday Park, in Valley Road, Clacton, every Thursday from 9am to 10.30am.
There will also be two free exhibitions showcasing local health and social activities.
Great Bromley village hall will host the first on February 21 from 9.30am to 1pm, and the second will be held at the community information centre in Rosemary Road, Clacton, on March 14 from 10am to 3pm.
