A WIDE range of famous faces, local talent and tribute shows have been signed up for the West Cliff Theatre, in Clacton, in early 2015.

Ivor Novello award-winning star Joan Armatrading is bringing her tour of full-scale solo concerts to Clacton, with tracks from her 42 years in the music industry.

The legend has been recognised as one of the world’s leading singers, songwriters and guitarists, and will be performing classics such as Love and Affection, Willow and Drop The Pilot on stage.

International star Curtis Stigers brings tracks from all his albums, including his new jazz recording, and is joined on stage by guitar virtuoso James Scholfield.

Barbara Dickson, the biggest-selling Scottish female artiste of all time, will also be playing hits from ten years of chart success, such as I Know Him So Well, January February and Caravan Song.

The Stars From The Commitments features a dynamic nine-piece band, including cast members from the Golden Globe and BAFTA-winning film of the same name.

Cellist Julian Lloyd Webber is one of the world’s finest musicians and a member of the most influential musical dynasty of modern times.

Meanwhile, with four number one singles and more than 100 million records sold between 1955 and 1967, The Platters are sure to provide an evening of entertainment.

Their hits include Only You and The Great Pretender, and although the last of the original members died in 2012, the current line-up still promises a night to remember.

Britain’s most famous fox, Basil Brush, will also be appearing.

There will also be tribute’s to the world’s biggest boyband One Direction, the King of Pop Michael Jackson and rock gods Queen.

Local groups, including Clacton Musical Theatre Society, West Cliff Young Theatre, Clacton Amateur Dramatic Society and West Bergholt Concert Band are also scheduled to appear from January to April.
