A TEENAGER has admitted stealing £25 from his grandparents’ home.
Dylan Williams, 19, took cash without permission from an address in Wash Lane, Clacton, on November 4.
In a victim statement heard by Colchester Magistrates’ Court, his grandmother said she believed Williams’ problems had arisen due to drug and alcohol use.
Williams sobbed in the dock as he was sentenced by chairman of the bench, Michael Mitchinson.
Mr Mitchinson said: “This is a serious matter and you can see what impact it has had on your grandmother and your family.
“What makes this worse is you have deliberately targeted your grandparents’ home. You breached their trust.”
Williams, of Totlands Drive, Clacton, was ordered to pay £145 in costs and made subject of a four-month community order.
