THE search is on to find the Park of the Year – and three Tendring sites are in the running.
A record-breaking 1,482 parks and green spaces were awarded Green Flags this year, including Clacton Seafront Gardens, Frinton’s Crescent Gardens and Weeley Crematorium.
People can now vote for the top site in the country from among the Green Flag winners in the People’s Choice Award. The site with the most votes will be crowned Park of the Year.
Tendring Council spokesman Nigel Brown said: “Our staff put a tremendous amount of work and effort into maintaining our open spaces and we are all very proud of them. It would be good to see people take just a few minutes to go online and vote to show their appreciation.”
Voting at greenflagaward. org closes at noon on September 30 and the winner will be announced on October 16.
