A SCHOOLBOY from Clacton has been hailed as an inspiration to others after scooping a top award.
Ravens Academy’s Jack Harvey overcame a series of hurdles in his life during what was described as a “very difficult year” following the death of a close relative.
The determined Year Six pupil was nominated for the award by headteacher Karen Hammond for continuing to shine and achieve. He even accomplished the highest grade in maths in his recent SATs exams.
Mrs Hammond said: “Jack has always maintained a positive attitude and strong work ethic, finding ways to study and improve when times have been tough and giving in would have been easier.
“It was great to see him being acknowledged for all he has achieved and we are very proud of him.”
The awards were presented by the Academy Transformation Trust, which runs the school, at a ceremony at the House of Commons.
