UK company behind Di Caprio movie issued winding up order

GFM Animation is a London-based production company that says it creates animated films and series for family audiences worldwide.

A notice in the public record on September 14 said the High Court had issued the order.

It instructs a company to end its business affairs and close.

The Gazette said HM Revenue and Customs issued a petition to wind up GFM Animation on January 22, and the order was issued on September 9.

HMRC has been assigned liquidator under the Insolvency Act 1986, according to the notice.

GFM Animation says on LinkedIn that it worked with Leonardo Di Caprio on his production company’s 2023 animated film Ozi: Voice of the Forest.

The film follows an orphaned orangutan who becomes an online influencer and helps expose rainforest destruction.

The company also says it worked on 10 Lives, where a cat on its last of nine lives is offered a chance to make amends and start again from zero.

Its voice cast included One Direction’s Zayn Malik, television scientist Bill Nigh and comedian Mo Gilligan.

Established nine years ago, the firm says it also offers financing, distribution and sales services.

Its website now appears offline, while its LinkedIn page has not posted for 10 months, since promoting Stitch Head, another film it worked on.

The most recent accounts filed at Companies House from 2024 said it had eight employees at that time.
