MORE than 300 generous residents in Clacton donated to charities supported by UK Aid Match - one of the highest figures in the country.
Clacton MP Giles Watling welcomed the news after Penny Mordaunt, Secretary of State for International Development, congratulated the constituency for its outstanding generosity.
She said a total of 333 residents have donated to the charities.
For every £1 donated to a UK Aid Match charity appeal, the Government will also contribute £1 of UK aid.
Mr Watling said: “I am pleased to hear that residents throughout the Clacton constituency have been so generous. These initiatives help so many around the world.”
