IN response to John Wolton asking for assistance from the Brooklands and Grasslands residents and their community groups (Letters, October 27).
I am at a loss as to why he is publicly asking for help. As chairman of the so-called Jaywick Forum, he has put himself in the spotlight for the last three or so years.
Are his plans now to be seen as worthless?
Out of the approximately 800 homes within the areas Mr Wolton asks help from, very rarely does his strictly controlled forum meetings see more than just a pitiful handful of a dozen or less actually attend. Those that do receive very little new news or information.
To take a deeper in-depth look of those "still active" as forum members, let's actually see just who is on the committee, and just where do they live?
The chairman lives out of the CO15 postcode area. The remaining members are either Tudor residents or village residents. None from Brooklands or Grasslands. Local residents just get overruled or ranks are closed by members of both the Jaywick and Tudor residents association, and those who also serve on the Jaywick Forum.
In the past, members have been from both Grasslands and Brooklands, but nothing has ever been long-lasting, due to overbearing attitudes from both the above residents groups.
