A MAN has appeared in court accused of stealing £80 worth of meat joints from a shop.
Tim Broad, of Rochford Road, St Osyth, did not enter a plea when he appeared at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
The 25-year-old is accused of taking four meat joints, worth £30, from the Co-op in Station Road, Colchester, on September 23.
He is also charged with returning to the store to steal six more joints and a can of Lynx deodorant on October 3.
Elizabeth, mitigating, requested adjournment for seven days while CCTV was obtained from the shop.
Chairman of the bench, Robert Goodenough, said: “We are not happy with situations where clients neither admit or deny guilt.
“We reluctantly agree to this.”
Broad was remanded in custody.
He will return to Colchester Magistrates’ Court on October 14.
