PROPOSALS to turn a disused warehouse into a children's activity centre have been turned down by planners.
Developers wanted to convert the building in Stephenson Road, Clacton, into a children's leisure facility for up to 60 youngsters.
Planning guidelines say activity centres should be based in town centres where possible.
The brains behind the Stephenson Road project said it was the only suitable site in the town.
But Tendring Council ruled the application was "fundamentally flawed" because the former Vice Versa nightclub was available in the town centre.
