TEN people have been arrested following a series of dawn raids on suspected drugs dealers in Clacton today.
Police swooped early this morning on eight addresses near the town centre.
The drugs bust targeted suspected class A drugs dealers and addicts.
Police said the operation followed "invaluable" intelligence from the community.
The raid was carried out by local officers and members of the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate.
Properties in Ellis Road, Dudley Road, Page Road, Penfold Road, Wellesley Road, Hadleigh Roid and Edith Road were raided.
Seven men and three women were arrested on suspicion of supplying or possessing class A drugs and other offences.
The suspects are aged 20-51 and from Clacton. They are all being held in police custody.
Chief Supt Alison Newcomb said there was a close link between drug abuse and crimes such as burglary and theft.
